BHV Nederland increases confidence with 3D first aid training
BHV Nederland is a publisher and training provider in the field of emergency response and first aid. Every day, the organization trains people to act safely and confidently during incidents in the workplace and at home.
The challenge
During training sessions, BHV Nederland observed that many people do not know enough about what they can do themselves during minor incidents, such as a cut, burn, or fainting. Even simple situations therefore often lead to uncertainty, panic, and unnecessary emergency calls.
Additionally, it turned out that participants have little knowledge of the contents and use of a first aid kit. Traditional teaching materials and explanations made it difficult to practice realistic situations and properly prepare participants for the moment when it really matters.
Our solution
In collaboration with MetaChef, BHV Nederland developed ZIB – Zorg in een Box (Care in a Box): an interactive, digital 3D first aid kit where realistic scenarios come to life. In ZIB, users go through recognizable situations step by step, such as a cut while cooking, a fall, or acute bleeding. The contents of the first aid kit are fully developed in 3D and equipped with touchpoints explaining materials and procedures.
With this digital learning environment, participants can better prepare for training sessions, gain more insight into using the first aid kit, and build confidence in their own actions. From early 2026, ZIB will be used to prepare for emergency response and first aid training.
