For MetaChef, the innovation journey began with a simple observation: people learn and understand faster when they can see something. Manuals and static visuals often fell short in making complex processes truly understandable. That became the spark for the founding of MetaChef.
"Our ambition was and is to make learning more engaging, training more efficient, and communication more convincing with interactive 3D technology," says director Bart Oude Luttikhuis.

The company developed its own methodology to translate CAD data and flat information into interactive 3D models that are immediately usable via any device. With this, MetaChef makes processes understandable in design, production, training, and maintenance—without expensive hardware. "The challenge is constantly pushing new boundaries, but that is precisely what gives energy," says Oude Luttikhuis.

Within INDUSTR_I4.0, MetaChef develops workflows and digital twins that help companies test faster, build smarter, and train more efficiently. Partners such as TMI Group and BWN play a crucial role in this: they provide practical knowledge and expose their processes and bottlenecks. Their input ensures that the digital twins truly align with the needs of the manufacturing industry.
The power of cross-border collaboration
MetaChef's innovation journey revolves around co-creation. Collaboration with Dutch and German partners within the INDUSTR_I4.0 network accelerates the development and application of the technology. By sharing knowledge and experience across borders, the 3D technology becomes not only better, but also more scalable and more broadly applicable in industry.
The next step
MetaChef looks ahead to the further expansion of their 3D platform for industry, with digital twins taking a central role. Virtual simulations and interactive work instructions should enable companies to work more safely, reduce errors, and innovate faster. This applies not only to management, but especially to the people on the shop floor. Operators get up to speed faster and gain better insight into processes. Fitters and service personnel benefit from clear, visual step-by-step instructions, allowing them to work more safely and with fewer errors. Engineers can test and improve already in the design phase, which significantly shortens the development cycle.
