Working at height training
Falls from height are the leading cause of serious workplace injuries. Yet instruction often consists of a folder of rules or a presentation on day one: read, signed and forgotten. Dutch health and safety law requires more: anyone working at height must receive demonstrable instruction. For employers, that means two things: employees who genuinely know the rules and proof that the instruction was provided.
Skillcircle's Working at height training delivers both. Employees see safe practice in interactive 3D on scaffolds, ladders, mobile elevating work platforms and roofs. You can see who completed the training. Use the module on its own or as part of the complete 3D onboarding and safety training.
Safety rules for working at height
Not a theory book, but the safety rules for the four situations where things go wrong, shown step by step:
Working with a scaffold
Check the scaffold tag before use, including its date and approval; know the load limit; lock the wheels while working; and never move it with people or materials on it.
Working with a ladder
Use stable ground and the correct 4:1 angle; secure the base or have it held; extend the ladder one metre above the work point; climb with three points of contact; and never work from the top three rungs.
Working with a mobile elevating work platform
Operate it only with the required instruction or certification; check the logbook before use; attach the harness and lanyard to the basket's anchor point; and never step out of the basket at height.
Working on roofs
Protect every roof edge or use a harness connected to an approved anchor point; cover skylights and openings; inspect the roof before access; wear non-slip footwear; and provide safe access. Stop work in icy conditions or on wet bitumen roofs.
After the module, employees can name the right equipment for each situation and explain why it is the safest choice. A knowledge check completes the training. Follow the rules for yourself, not just for your manager: that is the message that sticks.
Demonstrable for every audit
The MetaChef portal shows which training each employee completed, how much time they spent and their knowledge-check scores. Export reports as CSV or PDF for audits, risk-assessment follow-up or client reports. Arrange repetition after an incident, for new tasks or before an audit with one click.

Multilingual working at height training on any phone
The training is fully mobile, with no computer, classroom or supervisor required. The multilingual instruction is accessible to employees with different language and literacy levels. The 3D visuals make the material clear for people with limited literacy. Temporary workers can even complete it before their first working day.
Do your employees also use fixed machinery or perform task-specific procedures? Combine this module with visual 3D work instructions for instruction at the workplace itself.

Frequently asked questions about working at height
Is working at height training mandatory?
Dutch health and safety law requires employers to provide effective and demonstrable information about workplace risks. Working at height, generally from 2.5 metres or wherever there is a fall risk, requires specific instruction on equipment and safety rules. This training provides that instruction and the evidence.
Which situations does the training cover?
The four most common situations: working with a scaffold, a ladder, a mobile elevating work platform and on roofs. For each situation, employees learn the specific safety rules and when each type of equipment is the safest choice.
Does this replace a platform operator certificate?
No. Separate instruction or certification is still required to operate a mobile elevating work platform. This training ensures that everyone working at height knows the basic rules and keeps that knowledge current through repetition.
How quickly can employees complete the training?
The module is short and works on any phone. Once setup is complete, which takes one week, every employee can start immediately, even before their first working day.
